Tauern Cycle Path

City, country, river for cyclists

The Tauern Cycle Path leads from Krimml in Salzburg Land to Passau in Bavaria. As you pedal along, gorgeous landscapes and cultural monuments pass you by: rivers, mountains, small towns and castles. Enough opportunities for educational or relaxing breaks. A beautiful stage leads from Golling via Hallein to Salzburg’s old town.

The trail starts at the market square in Golling and goes uphill and downhill to Kuchl. The trail continues through forests and meadows to the southern end of the town of Hallein. In the old town, by the way, you’ll pass by the Celtic Museum – maybe you’ll take a look? Other highlights along the way are the crystal clear Königseeache and generally the landscapes on the banks of the Salzach all the way to the city of Mozart.
