When the Earth dreams

A moving evening full of poetry, wonder and quiet hope.

In the beginning, there was silence. A sound. A story.

Voice artist and storyteller Mareike Tiede and bansuri player Rina Killmeyer weave together myths, poetry and music to create an intimate evening exploring creation, change and the question of how people can navigate times of crisis.

At the heart of the performance are ancient stories – including the tale of Noah and his ark, as well as myths from Sufi traditions, Indian and indigenous cultures. They tell of the creation of the world, of its possible end, and, time and again, of new beginnings. In doing so, they remind us that every upheaval also holds within it the possibility of transformation.

At a time when so much is being thrown into question, these ancient tales invite us not only to seek answers, but also to listen to the questions that lead us deeper into life. They offer guidance, confidence and the courage to face change with an open heart.

The event is part of the Ynselzeit programme.
